Just prior to the mark, 15 and 4 tacked to avoid 3 3 altered course to avoid contact with 15 and 4 and in so doing, was forced above close hauled and made contact with 15. 3 protested 15 citing RRS 18.3(a). 15 protested 4 claiming 'room to tack'.Ȁ?˙˙˙´B€?€?´B€???Arial Boats 15 and 4 were approaching the weather mark on port tack in race 5B of the ICSA Semi-Finals. Boat 3 was approaching on starboard and fetching the mark and on a collision course with 15 and 4. Wind was 15-20 knots. A strong current was moving toward the mark at 2 1/2 knots. 15 and 4 entered the zone overlapped. Their boat speed was _____ kts. 15 was outside and to leward of 4. At __ boat lengts from 3, 15 hailed 4 twice for room to tack. At _____ boat lengts, 4 began her tack. 15 and 4 tacked, causing 3 to go close hauled. 15 and 4 also changed course above close hauled. There was contact between 3 and 15, but no damage or injury.
